We're taking the Dave Ramsey "Financial Peace University" class and our church is going through a stewardship series so we're getting hit double time in the money catagory right now. I just started reading "Managing God's Money" by Randy Alcorn....don't pick it up!!!!!!
Two things that rocked me today:
1. (PAGE 18)Four things you should think about when spending or how you view a purchase:
In spending this money, am I acting as if I owned it, or am I acting as the Lord's trustee?
What Scripture passage requires me to spend this money in this way?
Can I offer up this purchase as a sacrifice to the Lord?
Will God reward me for this expenditure at the resurrection of the just?
And if that wasn't enough...
2. (page 31) As God's child and his money manager, what personal, spiritual, moral, and financial changes do you need me to make to get ready to give him a face-to-face account of your job performance?
WOW! That is a reality check for sure. Thanks for sharing. We did the Dave Ramsey class last year and are still poking away at our debt. It's tough.
